I've had several Savage and/or Stevens 22/410's and other combinations - and currently use a ca.1939 Stevens 22-410 Tenite almost daily during my state's small game season, every Oct through Feb.

Enjoy it for what it is.

The one i have is probly from about 1939 or early i im not sure
it has no searial # my 86 year old grandfather got it when
he was 12 .it also has the tenite stock .iwas also wondering
if you guys have shot slugs though one.
In 1939 savage bought stevans i think" and mine only says
stevans.

How do you find that the shotgun shoots? Is it hard to wingshoot with the rifle sights? Seems like they would give you a very strange sight picture.

Only a weassal

I have yet to wing shoot with it .however when i was about
10 i shot a chicken coope robbing weassel with it on grandpa,s
ranch.worked good on a running weassel.

Savage Arms acquired Stevens Arms & Tool in 1920, and the Stevens 22-410 was the first of the Savage/Stevens O/U combination guns issued, sometime in late 1938/early 1939 as the Stevens Model 22-410.

The various Savage 24 O/U models/chamberings followed later, and none were letter-date-coded under the chambers until MUCH later (1949 to 1970).
