Just got back from a hunting trip, plenty of game around here are some pics..

First photo is of me and a Billy shot at 150yd with my .243 on the wheat fields.
Second photo is of me with 4 billys shot by me and a mate using a my .243 and my mates .300wm range around 200yd
Third photo is of my uncle with nice boar taken at the wheat silos on the first night spotlighting with a .270 range 40yd

I have more photos but i can only upload 3 in one thread

We ended up with 3 pigs to about 85kg, 20 goats, 16 rabbits, 6 hares, 1 cat, 1 crow. Plenty of rabbits and hares there, also heaps of goats. Only shot enough rabbits for the pot. Saw around 14 pigs all up but a lot on the run.

butta-
Looks like you had a great hunt. I'm jealous. But why are you guys all bundled up? Don't you know it's summertime?;)

The goats are non-native, right?
Any mammal is not native to Australia.

we are in winter here, just coming into spring. Goats are all feral we have millions of them here. Bloody freezing at night day time was perfect. I would load more photos but does not allow. No trophy billies but some good coats and not bad horns.

First photo is a feral cat shot by my dad with the old remington .788 in .222. Cat was spotted on the wheat about 110 yards.
Second photo is of me and best mate just after shooting pigs with .300 win mag spotlighting, one got away.
Third photo is of me and the three pigs for the weekend no tusks oh well. Im holding my .243 with pecar scope which took a few good billies

Wow, why can't we have goats running all amock over here? That looks like a whole friggin lot of fun! How much and what kinds of crop damage do your ag co-ops claim each year to goats?

I do know that the ferral cats are fair game... They have no predators so they are killing off many Oz critters like a plague!

Even though it is legal there to shoot them, some tree hugger will have a fit about it and show the picture out of context :barf: One must control them how ever and as cheaply as possible;) Nice looking pigs. looks like a good time for all.

hogdogs

I was not saying hide it I was just stating that some tree hugger will use it for propaganda . Anyone who knows me knows I hunt and am proud of it. I have several friends that say if the SHTF they will be coming to my house to hang out;). My wife tells her friends she becomes divorced when hunting season comes in:D. I was raised in the sticks and love the outdoors, and as soon as we sell our house in town we are moving back to the sticks where people act normal and use common sense :D(no offence to the city folks on this board) and watch out for each other. Besides in my book the only good cat is a dead cat

Feral cats are the biggest killer of our native birds and small lizards. Yes open season all year every year on feral game. There are open close seasons for following

sambar deer
Red deer
Chital deer
Hog deer
Fallow deer have restrictions
Ducks
Quail

No bag limits on feral game. My friend just got back from a hunt for pigs using dogs, he ended up with 23 for the weekend. Goats and pigs are in the millions and always will be as we have so much land for the to thrive on. As for destruction on crops it costs farmers 100's of millions of dollars a year. There are some limits on deer.

Scorch

Not bad buddy yes your right with the dingos, thats why we can blast them to hell. We do have a lot of natve bats here though, hope that settles things. There a lot of introduced animals here:

Rabbit
Hare
Fox
Dingo
Dog
Cat
Goat
Pig
Quail
Deer
Buffalo
Donkey
Camel
Brumby

They are some of the game we have here... You do have amazing game in the states as well.

Hey Butta- I had a whale of time shooting outside Dawrwin a few years back- pigs and buffalo. Fantastic time had by three kiwis and seven mad 3RAR dudes- we shot hundreds (literally) of pigs- never seen anything like it.

Yeah mate pigs up north are plentiful, as well as buff and other game. Goats dont get up that far but the pig quality is good as you would probably know. I am from Victoria which is down south and pigs have even come dowm as far as our state parks now.

Im off fox shooting in a few weeks hopefully might have a couple more photos and stories.
