Out of state trade?

What steps do I need to follow to make a long gun trade with someone from another state. It will be a FTF trade in my state. I have never done a trade with someone from another state and I want to make sure it's all done above board. Thanks
 
No FTF deals (between two non-FFLs) across state lines. You'll need to go to an FFL in either your state or the buyers state to transfer the gun.

I'm in WA State, 8 miles from Idaho, you saying I can't go and buy a rifle or shotgun from a fellow enthusiast in an adjacent state next door?

Doesn't make sense since people go from here to the gun show next door all the time...


Now for handguns... that's different...
