Out of State Resident CCW / Two state CCW

I am a PA resident and live near the PA/DE border. I find it difficult to wear a CW 24/7 because sometimes I find myself needing to go into DE for something. Delaware does not recognize PA CCW permits. Perfect example is unlike PA, DE has no sales Tax so all my big purchases are done in DE. So if I decide to buy a flat screen TV, the good news is I pay no sales tax, the bad news is I either go into DE unarmed to make a $2000 purchase, or I break the law (which I will not do). I was wondering if any other border crossers are in the same boat, and if anyone has a CW permit in two states. Unlike PA, DE is tough on its residents (expensive, courses, etc.), I'm wondering if they are even more tougher on non-residents.

I have non-resident carry licenses in NH and Maine, and a resident license in Massachusetts. Vermont honors all three. Twenty or more states honor one or the other.

It is fairly common for people to have CCWs in non-resident states in order to cover states not listed by their primary license. You do not necessarily need a license issued from the state you wish to visit. For example, the Florida non-resident license is extremely easy and cheap to acquire and would allow you to carry in DE.

Hey Mikeyboy,

I feel your pain, use to live in West Chester and work in Delaware. I'm looking to do the same thing and saw that the Florida license works in DE. It costs a little more than the PA one and requires proof of taking a safety course. Sounds to me like your best course of action.

Good Luck.
