Hillary was in town for an hour Thursday grubing for money, she got $80,000. Makes me think there must be something wrong in the Big Apple if she needs to get her funding from out of New York staters. Or is there something bigger going on here?
Left-wingers conspire: Hillary Clinton blew into town for about an hour last night and picked up more than $80,000 for her Senate campaign.
Bill Knapp had a $1,000-a-head party for Clinton at his riverfront home in Dallas County. It was worth a grand to see high-rollers like Jack Taylor, Chuck Johnson and Stan Richards standing in line to get their picture taken.
Clinton - surrounded by Sen. Tom Harkin and Vilsack - charmed the crowd, talking about the "vast right-wing conspiracy" that's out to get her on the East Coast. She also talked about her ability to keep smiling despite what she's lived through during the past eight years.
Late in her 15-minute speech, she was ragging about the National Rifle Association and mentioned Wayne LaPierre saying the gun folks will have an office in the White House when Bush wins. Moments later, she was corrected and told it wasn't LaPierre, it was our own Kayne Robinson. Clinton smiled graciously and tried to act like she was happy to be set straight.
