I am considering buying a laptop, but I am daunted by the variety available.
My main requirements are:
Durablilty. I realize that the real ruggedized models are very expensive, but some of the normal ones must be tougher than others.
VGA jack so I can use a real monitor while at home. I'm not TOO concerned with the display quality because I think they all suck compared to a CRT.
Serial port so I can use a decent mouse (I just love those optical trackballs!)
Built in modem.
Abilty to run off a 12V battery (i.e. car lighter socket)
Good battery life and availabilty of extra batteries is also important.
Built in CDROM.
Decent audio, preferably Soundblaster compatible, with line in and line out jacks.
What else should I be looking for ?
What do people use the USP port for?
-----------------------------------------
I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning. It smells like.... freedom.
