Anyone know what the difference is between a capital murder and just murder?

Arrest made in Texas slayings, rapes
The Associated Press
ARLINGTON, Texas (September 6, 2000 12:20 p.m. EDT http://www.nandotimes.com) - A man has been charged with the 1996 strangulation deaths of two teachers whose naked bodies were found in bathtubs.
Dale Devon Scheannette, 27, who was arrested on capital murder charges Tuesday, was identified from a fingerprint obtained during a burglary, police said. He also was charged with two sexual assaults committed last year.
Scheannette was being held without bail.
The murder victims, Wendie Prescott and Christine Vu, were slain months apart at the same apartment complex.
Using an FBI computer database, investigators matched Scheannette's fingerprint from an Austin burglary to one taken from the scene of a sexual assault at the University of Texas at Arlington in February 1999, police said.
DNA evidence already had linked the slayings to sexual assaults at the University of Texas at Arlington and in Grand Prairie.
Earlier this year, police said forensic evidence and an unusual genital scar connected the same person to the murders of Prescott and Vu and two sexual assaults in 1999.
