Orlite mags in Bushmasters

I just ordered 2 Orlite mags for my bushmaster. I found a different site that stated that they will not work in BM. Did I wast my money?

You will find out when you get them. My understanding is if they are over series "20" then they will work. Usually you have to tell the place you are ordering from that you have a Bushy and they will send you the right mags. I just did this with AIM

Orlite mags will NOT work in Bushmaster rifles. Orlite "Isreali" mags will. Or is it the other way around? Anyway, I'm sure that Bushmaster knows the diff., and would not do you wrong like that. I've always had great response from Bushy CS department, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I have a bunch of Orlite mags and a Bushmaster V-match.
They don't fit.
They fit in the Bushmaster bull pup, but that is not an AR, it just uses AR mags.

I talked to Clint at Fulton Armory. He said to take a knife and cut a little of the interfering part off the mags. It is the Bushmaster's fault, so I just keep the mags and that rifle separte.

I thought the Bushmaster AR was supposed to be Mil-Spec? I own one, and also have a Thermold mag that works like it should. If the Orlite mag is made for the AR-15/M-16, how can it not fit? If there is too much material on the mag someplace, maybe it was a manufacturing flaw that occured during a batch marked for export.

Thanks, everyone

I will let you know how it works out.

Bye, the way I shot BM for the first time today and LOVE IT.

Oleg is correct. All you will have to do is grind off the ridge that runs around the magazine. The mag well on BM's are too long. So you have to take off this ridge in order to insert it deep enough to lock in.

I just recieved 10 Isreali orlites from AIM. I told them ahead of time, and included the fact that it was for a Bushy on the order. All were above series 20, and 3 did not fit. I found that there was excess material at the mouth, and so modified it with sandpaper. They work great now.

Don't grind the overinsertion ridge off entirely! Orlite's need this to seat properly. Only grind off enough so that it fits and feeds properly. Take a little off at a time. Just wanted to clarify that.
