For what its worth, Oregon became the third US state to permit recreational marijuana sales today.

It would be interesting to see what the media says if he has marajuna in his system. It would be nice to see the news not instantly hammer down on gun laws.

I think they mean a "Gun FREE FIRE Zone"

And now they'll give a thousand excuses why he did it. And adding the latest " I had a bad pot day"

Sympathies to the victims and families, in situations like this the pro and anti gun lobbies are quick to get in and push their agenda it comes across at best as a bit insensitive so soon after the incident. There is one person to blame that's the attacker.

manta, I agree that the anti's are quick to get in and push their agenda but I have to disagree with the pro's pushing any agenda except maybe as a response. And the pro's response is usually along the lines of 1) schools/colleges are a no gun zone; 2) does the shooter have a permit to carry?; & 3) was he legally allowed to have a gun in the first place?

But yes, there's only one person to blame.

This is not a law and civil rights issue.

It is a tragic event, no political viewpoints should be injected into this no matter if someone else does.

Long Gun Used

Just wanted to post the scanner audio here. Right around the 7 minute mark is where the first responding officer exchanges fire with the shooter. This should give all a good idea of response time/action to an active shooter scenario.

Around the 9 minute mark, the shooter is down, so the altercation took 2 minutes.

1. This is not a L and CR issue

2. There is no useful discussion until the facts are known. We don't need a lot of incorrect posts (like where it took place).

3. Thus, closed in L and CR.
