After asking lots of questions and getting lots of answers on this board I went down and ordered my gun today.
Getting a Savage in 25.06, blued, synthetic stock. It's one of the "package" deals, includes a 3-9x40 Tasco (instead of the 32mm Simmons) sling & hard case for $390.
I probably could've got a Remington or Ruger etc., but heard enough good things about the Savage to go with it. At that price I'll have enough left over to bring home a new Benelli Nova 12ga too!
