optics for Rossie 92

I have a Rossi 92 in 357mag and need some suggestions for scope and mounts. For older eyes the buckhorn sights simply don't make the grade. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well I don't like scopes on the old school style lever guns. I am getting a Rossi 92 454 with the peep safety replacement by Steve's Gunz. Good enough for me out to 100 yards beyond which I'd use another rifle anyway.

Well, depends - do you want really lightweight or can you go a little heavier?

I've got this one on a .357 mag rifle and it's magnif, optics, and reticle are superb for the use of that rifle (homestead defense), but it's heavy:

However, another great option at half the price, and much lighter, which I have on two other short-ranged guns, is this one (this would look mo' betta for a levergun - not too big):

same with different reticle:

But before putting the cart before the horse...you willing to buy used, or new only? What's the total budget?

Thanx guys for your responses. I am sure I can find a good scope for this rifle but its the mounts that I am seeking. I have considered peep sights and steves guns offer a very nice one made just for the gun.
Xmas afternoon I fired my sons AR with a peep sight. Brought back memories of a bygone era of my life (11B10). I might yet refer to the peep but am considering a scope because my sight will naturally weaken. I looked at the Rossi P801 mount but am for whatever reason sitting on the fence about it. Any input from scoped Rossi lever gun users would be greatly appreciated.
