Last year I was taking a road trip for 2-3 weeks, more like two. I didn't really trust the person that was going to feed the cat's for good reason's.

So, I brought all my guns over to my neighbors house to put in his safe.

I had many case's (Heavy) of ammo I didn't want to make him watch, so took it and spread it all over my house and garage so if I got robbed they may not have found it all.

Long story short, look what I just found in my closet. Actually I found the Fiocchi's a few months ago in my garage. I had forgot about these, "Kind of"!

And when I got home from the trip last year, one of the cat's got locked in my room the whole time I was gone, with no food and water, with a strong cat smell if you know what I mean. I knew I couldn't trust that pile of....%&$#@%. I asked to her to make sure they were not locked in any rooms! "Okay, I will".

Don't even ask what I paid, because it as rather cheap. Okay, $8.33 for Fiocchi 9mm, and $12.50 for the GDHP 9MM +P.

Isn't it fun finding stuff you had forgotten about...

Not when they are few box's of premium ($100's each) cigars, and I live in a dry climate. They're dead.

After I bought a case/20 of the Fiocchi's, Sportsmanguide were I got them went up about $5 a box before the ammo shortage. I don't mind revealing my sources because it's all gone now.

I also found a bag of about a 100 SD 9mm's that I was testing, from Corbon's, GDHP, Glaser's, Pow'rball's and who else know's that I can not identify.

Well serves you right for such calloused treatment of the poor smokes. :D

Naw, put them in a proper humidifier, give them a month or two to rehydrate, they'll recover to at least smokeable status.

Elvis, I'm jealous. I'm still trying to replace the .22 bulk pack I shot up two weeks ago. :o I found some Federal today for $24 but I refuse to support the maddness.

Why I remember, back when I was a little boy, we just stopped by the hardware store on the way to the shooting range...

We moved into a new house a couple years ago. Alot of crap wound up sitting in piles in the garage. (ever notice, when you move, even into a bigger house, all the crap you once had doesn't fit again? Theres actually a theory on that, the longer you live in a house, the more efficient you become is stuffing things in every nook and crany you can find. When you move into a new house, you don't want to stuff and cram everything and, you wind up with more stuff than places to put it..)

Anyway, I found a particularly heavy box, discovered a full sealed case of S&B .223 ball....I was giddy...

Yeah, I hear ya there. I'm rying to get another brick or two. I should have bought a 22 long ago, I would have stocked up then. At least I have enough for a few (2-4) more range sessions.

Housezealot:

wow you were a ammo hoarder before the cool kids were into it

I started just over two years ago, when ammo was a lot cheaper, than, about 18 months ago when ammo went up, my range buddy told me ammo was going to go up again, and I found these on Gunbroker for $250ea, so I bought 2 or 3 case's. That means I might have another case of 9's, somewhere around, but I can't remember, because I was buying ammo case's like crazy and going broke.

ammo

you were gone for 2-3 weeks and your cat was locked in a room the whole time with no food or water!? Who was watching your cats? I think they need a visit from the UZI Fairy

Lucky for me

Lucky for me my Dad gave me the great advice to buy at least one box of ammo every paycheck and more when I could afford it. I started when I was 20 and am now 24. For the better part of the last 4 years i've bought at least 100 rounds a week, usually more than that. This has made me feel lucky these last few months. Now I only shoot reloads and have a decent amount of ammo stored to get me through these questionable times. however I have never found any of it that I forgot about....YET!!!!

I keep looking for more in my house, but haven't found any. Honestly, I thought I might have another case, but maybe I'm thinking of the .38 GDHP's.

I told a buddy to do that just over a year ago, buy a box here and there. He laughed, but who's laughing now. He's lucky if I sell him a mag full. Half FMJ's, and half HP's.

The cat survived, and is fine. I guess he went into hibernation and slept the whole time.

I did the same thing last month with .44 mag ammo that I had placed amongst my hunting stuff (instead of the usual place I keep ammo stored); it was a nice discovery considering 50 round boxes of .44 mag ammo hit $50 during the Obama rush
