Opinions Sig 232?

Today I handled a Sig 232 in a gun shop. I like the looks, size, and feel of this pistol enough to contemplate it as the next gun to join my collection. However, I have not fired one. Does anyone have any opinion on this firearm?

Please, I'm not looking for opinions on the worth or relative merits of the .380 caliber nor am I looking for the standard "you can buy a gun the same size that will shoot a more powerful round." I know that.

Personally, I am of the school that any gun you (a.) will carry and not leave in a drawer because of weight or concealability and (b.) can shoot accurately is worthy of consideration.

So, what say you?

I own a 230, which is about the same, but previous version. I like it has a decent kick, and hasn't jammed at all. I like the fact that the barrel is built into the gun it self, which I think makes it more accurate. Its a pleasure to shoot. I bought it used for 300 bucks a few months ago. It is very accurate.

You can always do a search on it and find peoples opinions if you don't receive anymore replies.

I looked at the 230 when I bought my PPK. I found that the PPK was a lot more size-efficient. Same caliber, same number of rounds I think, but much smaller.

I also liked the fact that the PPK had a safety and the "American" mag release. Also, the 007 thing didn't hurt.

While I don't knock the 232, if you've got your heart set on a .380 I'd take a close look at the PPK or PPK/S before you buy.

I own and carry a P232. It's a little larger than the Walther PPK, but i can conceal it easily in a pants pocket and it's a SIG(SIG has never done me wrong). Never had a jam and can put all rounds in 1 1/2" groups @ 10 yards. I like the P232 for summer carry.....Dan in GA

If you take Hoosierboy's advice and do a search, you will find several posts of mine praising this pistol. I have owned over 20 different pistol models and the 230/232 remains my favorite. I had a 230 about 5 years ago which I had to let go for financial reasons. Bought a two-tone 232 to replace it a year and a half ago, then traded that one for a "limited edition" one in all stainless with night sights and Hogue grip. Recommend if you have the money and can locate one, that you pick up this version. Runs in the high $500 range, but worth every cent to me. Functions perfectly, fits me like a glove, and very attractive styling.

It's a nice gun. It's got that palm swell thing going for it. It's easy to hold. It's a Sig so it's gotta shoot straight.

It's not a PPK, but that's not what you asked.

It will definitely shoot straight every time you pull the trigger. It will feel good in your hand. You will want to take it out of the safe and slip it in your coat pocket.

Sounds like it's time to ring up a sale.

It's still not a PPK. But it's a very good gun.
