Opinions on two CZ handguns

Was wondering what people's opinions are on:

1. The CZ75 in .40 cal. Non de-cocker model.

2. That little .380 CZ that looks alot like the Beretta Mod. 84 Cheetah (don't have the nomenclature but aficionados will know the one I mean.

Opinions?

Re #2: I think you're referring to the CZ-83. I have one in Satin Nickel, and love it despite the awful OEM sights. The grips are a bit thick, especially considering it's a double stack to begin with, but it is a lot of fun to shoot. The trigger is great - a bit heavy on DA, I don't think it's possible to make a DA/SA trigger smoother or crisper than this.

I'm not a 40 guy, but the CZ 75 is a great gun. I prefer mine to be 9mm, that's personal preference. For 9mms, the CZ 75 is my favorite.

Re the CZ 83; I have the 82 (9 mak caliber, milsurp), and it's a very nice gun. If you like fullsize duty guns in 9mm, 40, and 45, then this is the comparable platform for 380/9 mak. It is big enough to hold comfortably, carry 12 rds, and shoot all day without pain, or failures. It isn't a pocket gun, but it wasn't meant to be.

I have two CZ 83s (.380 Auto and .32 Auto), a CZ 82 (9 Makarov), and a CZ 75 Compact (9 Luger). My .380 83 is my go-to carry piece; the 83/82 is a smidgeon smaller than the 75 Compact. Statistically speaking, I shoot them all equally well. They all have a thumb safety, and I carry each cocked and locked and shoot them with my thumb resting on the safety.

A full-size CZ 75 B is a great sidearm, but I've only shot one chambered in 9 Luger. My jaw dropped at its precision. Given that the gun was designed around the 9 Luger, I'd recommend looking at one in that caliber.

My first 'patient zero' contact with CZ was a highly tuned 97b. When I went looking for a replacement for my XD9, I rented a 75b in 40. Liked it so much I got one in 9mm.

The 'virus' grew after that.;)

My CZ75 is my favorite 9mm handgun of the six that I own. I also own four 380's and slightly prefer my FiL's CZ83 to any of mine (mine are very good).

Yeah, I would recommend them.

I can really speak for the .40 CZ75 but I have a CZ75 SP01 in 9mm and it is awesome! Only put 100 rounds through it so far but the low slide mass and heavy steel frame absolutely make this gun have the lowest felt recoil of any center fire pistol I've ever shot. I'm sure the .40SW one would have significantly less recoil and flip than any of the plastic fantastics out there today.

The 75b in 40 with a safety is amazing. I used it for armed security and pin league. Very pleasant to shoot in 40 given its weight. I have probably between 6-7,000 rounds through mine and had a fte last week. First ever malfunction so I'm pretty happy with that.

I had to replace the extractor on mine about a year or so ago, and doing some research, that's one of the weaker links in the gun. You might want to look at your extractor and see if it's chipping or something.
