Opinions on single-shot .45-70's

I've found two neat-looking single-shot rifles in .45-70, but I know little about them. One is an H&R "Shikari" and runs at $250. The other is a remake of the old Wesson & Harrington buffalo gun and costs about $300. Neither looks as tough or as nice as the high-end single-shots, but the price is right. Anyone have experience shooting these brands or models? Are they lemons?

A buddy of mine has an H&R Handirifle in .45-70. I was unimpressed at first,it`s very plain and the furniture is kinda chunky but after I got the chance to shoot it I changed my mind. The action was nice and tight, trigger pull wasn`t bad at all and even with open sights it shot very well. We weren`t going for ultra accuracy with it but it shot better than the military Enfield and Mauser we had along. I also got a kick out of the ejector,I expected to have to pick the empties out of it but was pleasantly suprised when it kicked the empties out with gusto. I wouldn`t mind getting one myself. I haven`t heard of the Shikari, how does it differ from the Handirifle? Marcus
