Hi all , I`new in this forum.

I`m thinking about getting my first O/U. I shoot about 2000 shells a year hunting , mainly doves . I hunt with a 870 express untill now but it broke and guess its the perfect excuse to go for a double....
I came across the oportunity off buy a new Marocchi 03 field buy a very good price , what do you think about this gun????

...excuse my english , not very good.

Bought one from my neighbor, took it out to our sporting clays range to try it out. Sold it before I got into the clubhouse. Guy had to have it, never saw it again. Seemed to be a solid gun.

The Marocci's are supposed to be nice guns, but if you ever have a problem with it you might be sending it back to Italy, or at the very least, ordering parts from Italy if you have a competant gunsmith. I don't think there is much support for them in the US.

Depending on the price, I might opt for a Beretta or Browning instead. What can you get it for?

Mariocchis are good, midlevel guns that are sadly under represented here.

The point made about parts and service aside, I know of a couple with very high round counts and little in the way of problems.

I shot a Conquista belonging to a friend. It needed a bit more LOP to fit me but broke wobble birds well.

Armi Marocchi has been in business since 1922, and their O/U shotguns are noted as being robust due to the simplicity of their lockwork, are relatively slender due to the trunnion hinge/bolting system ILO barrel lumps, and have great triggers & wood.

Noted shotgun author, Michael McIntosh, gave them an excellent review in his GUN REVIEW BOOK, from Silver Quill Press.

He said that he personally know of many that have very high round counts, with only minor to nil repairs needed.

If you can obtain one at what is a good price for you, I would recommend that you do so.
