Opinions on Don Hume

I'm looking for a holster for both my S&W Model 13 and my Para Ord Warthog .45acp. I'm currently awaiting a VM2 from Milt Sparks for my S&W 1911. Galco doesn't really have anything that trips my trigger. I love the 2 Kramer holsters I have but I can't afford two more right now, not at $115/holster (in horsehide).
Does anyone have any experience with Don Hume holsters? I'm interested in an IWB by them (or anyone at a reasonable price). Is the quality anywhere near that of Kramer and the others? Is the leather typically pretty stiff or somewhat flimsy?

Thanks :)

Not Custom, but not bad,

For an off the rack holster, the Don Hume line is IMO about the best "value" out there. Not saying they're the best holster but they are well made and serviceable for anyone on a budget. I have and use their 715 and JIT Slide and have no complaints.
The customer service people are top notch.

Take Care

I have the Don Hume JIT Slide holster (one for a Mak, one for a 38 snubbie and one for the XD). Also have a Don Hume paddle holster for the XD (haven't used it much). I bought a 721 OT for a 1911 and recently purchased another 721 OT for my XD SC. Another one is on the way for my SP101.

The JIT slides seem to fit a little looser than the others, but still holds snug. The fit on the 721 OT is nice and tight. I like the OWB myself so I can't really speak to the IWB holsters they make, but I'm very pleased with the quality of the OWB that I have purchased. I agree that they are a good value, whether you are on a budget or not. I wear them more than the pricier holsters I own.

I good value - I find them to be great holsters to buy when you are waiting for your "custom" one to come in!

Actually Hume stuff is the tightest stuff youll find..or are likely to.
Its not bad leather for the money and should be considered...just be ready to help it break in properly.
Shoot well and god bless
