I am considering the purchase of a new Colt lightweight Commander.

I would greatly appreciate your experiences with this firearm.

I have 2 LTW Commanders 1 in 9mm and 1 in 45acp They are a good carry pistol. Little more recoil in 45 than steel frame in 45 9MM is a baby to shoot . I have several 1911's The LTW Commanders and my Colt Defender get the most carry.
 
I personally would not want the Lightweight in .45 because of the recoil. You should try to shoot one of them first if that's a concern. 9mm no problem.
