quote:
OPERATION TRIGGER LOCK Target: Katie Couric: Gun Hater Extrordinaire! What is OPERATION TRIGGER LOCK, you ask? This is the first strike in the counter offensive against the unconstitutional dictates of the Federal government and the unholy alliance between Smith & Wesson and the Clinton Administration. TRIGGER LOCK will find Ms. Couric receiving thousands and thousands of "safety trigger locks" showing up at her studio on April 12, 2000. This will send a clear message that gun owners will not sit back and accept unconstitutional dictates from the government, either state or federal. How does on participate in OPERATION TRIGGER LOCK? Good question! Its easy. 1. Take your trigger lock, smash it into bits and pieces (if you don't have a lock, buy a cheap Chinese lock from the local hardware store and disable it with a nice American hammer ). 2. Next, take the disabled lock to your local post office or federal express office and mail it, with no return address, to the "perky" Katie Couric at: Katie Couric c/o National Broadcasting Company, Inc. 30 Rockefeller Plaza New York, NY 10112 **MAKE SURE YOU SEND THE LOCK NEXT DAY AIR OR OVERNIGHT EXPRESS**. 3. Spread the word. Tell every gun owner you know to do the same! Tell everyone that we will not accept these locks and that they can take them and shove them where the sun doesn't shine. This is the first strike in our counter-offensive against the godless and shameless socialists that have taken over the government of the United States. We don't need their trigger locks, we don't need their "waiting periods" and we certainly don't need any more of their unconstitutional laws. We are no longer going to just sit there and participate in the great sell-out of the Constitution of the United States. They can pass all the "mandatory trigger lock" laws they want; we just won't use them. These are but the first shots in our fight for a true and just republican form of government. Gun grabbers, you're on notice that your free ride is over. God bless America.[/quote]

Better to send the broken locks by the cheapest mail available so that she will continue to recieve broken cheap plastic
trigger locks over the next two months.
More nuisance value and try to send them with
only a 32 cent stamp and no return adress so that she will get charged postage due.

I'm there baby. I have a few I will send. In fact, I have a buttload of trigger locks because they have been coming with every gun I have bought in recent history (Hear that, anti's, trigger locks already come with most guns, you nincompoops!) I will send each seperately of course. And so will my friends.

Just tell me one thing. Why Katie Couric? I did not know she was our nemesis. I would like to know why I am sending them to her so that I feel really good about it ;) Some specific things she has done or said would be helpful. I also need this so I have good reasons so that I can convince my friends to do it too.

I guess I don't watch enough TV. I thought she was kinda cute from the few pics I have seen of her, and had no idea she is an anti.

Katie Couric is an idiot, and a perfect example of a biased, ill-informed journalist.

The day or 2nd day after Columbine, when the national network "talking haircuts" descended on Denver like locusts, she did a brief stand-up with the Gov. of Colorado. Nearly the first words out of her mouth were something like "Well Governor, this tragedy makes it clear that more gun control is needed in this country, don't you think?"

How's that for a well-balanced, objective, non-rhetorical question? "Let me tell you what I think, governor" is what she should have said. A flaming buttplug she is. To the governor's complete credit, he was very deliberate in answering her. He said something to the effect of "Well, you know that before these boys fired a shot they committed approximately 18 felonies. There's no indication at this point that more gun control laws would have averted this tragedy." I cheered him. Of course, that proved to be a fairly accurate statement, and we now know that there were many factors contributing to the tragedy, and many ignored warning signs.

In every report I've ever seen since where Couric mentioned guns, her questions were slanted with obvious bias. She is a journalist like Rose O'Donnell is a triathlete. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :( :( :(

Gun owners going postal
Mail-in protest against trigger locks planned
by Jon E. Dougherty

A pro-gun support group is planning a mass overnight mailing of broken trigger locks to a prominent network television news anchor to protest the recently signed gun safety agreement between Smith & Wesson and the federal government.
The event, called Operation Trigger Lock, is the brainchild of Los Angeles resident Bowden Russell.

The protest is designed to allow gun owners opposed to the Smith & Wesson deal to "make a strong statement," said Russell. He added, "we're going to show our displeasure" to NBC's Katie Couric of the network's "Today" show for her "anti-gun stance while highlighting the displeasure of gun owners over attempts by the federal government to force certain gun safety measures on the public."

Specifically, Russell said, "The gun owners of America do not want trigger locks forced upon us." He added, "This is our way of showing Smith & Wesson, the federal government and Couric that we don't need trigger locks and we don't want them."

Saying that the protest would be joined by "thousands" of pro-gun supporters from around the country, Russell told WorldNetDaily the gun locks would be mass-mailed "overnight" on Tuesday so as to "overwhelm" Couric at her New York City NBC office Wednesday.

"While the Republican-controlled Congress doesn't want to stand up to the Clinton administration, the American citizens do," Russell said. "We will prevail."

Saying that "gun grabbers" have had a "free ride," Russell said Operation Trigger Lock "is but the first shot in our fight for a true and just republican form of government." He added that he didn't think NBC or other major news networks would cover the event, even if tens of thousands of trigger locks were sent to the network's headquarters in New York.

Russell said he is advising participants to "first smash your trigger lock" before mailing it. And, he said, if someone wants to participate but doesn't own a trigger lock, "buy a cheap Chinese lock from the local hardware store and disable it with a nice American hammer."
