Online weapons purchases.

Is it safe to buy a weapon online? Are they good quality? Does anyone know of a reputable online gun dealer?
I have checked a few online dealers and the prices seem good.

Weapons? I don't know. But it's perfectly fine to buy firearms and accessories online..........ah la gunbroker.com

I've done it many times with great satisfaction.

Knock on wood, I've not been burned in 4 purchases. Gun Broker is good, as is Plano's Gun Shop (I think) in
Plano, TX.

I have bought more weapons online than in person. It's my primary source now. The best deals are private sales from websites like this one, but I also have bought quite a few from wholesalers.

Just be aware that you'll need to arrange for an FFL to receive the firearm, they'll tend to charge a fee to do this + there are shipping charges.

Also it's a good idea to call to confirm that a firearm that's listed by an online retailer is actually in stock. Some list guns that they don't stock - they'll order them for you.

I have bought guns online, but it is only after seeing the particular gun in person somewhere. Buying online can be a very good deal, especially if you are buying brand new or NIB (New In Box) as the auction sites put it. The only issue might be (but has never been with me so far - knock wood) is that you don't actually get to see the gun before you buy it. You get the one they happen to pull off the shelf when they are processing your order.

If you buy used, especially from an individual, it is always an iffy proposition unless you really know guns well enough to determine its working condition.

No FFL is required to recieve a firearm if it comes from a resident of your state. I've bought quite a few directly through the mail this way. Laws in your state may be more restrictive,

I've had outstanding results buying online (Gunbroker). Before bidding/purchasing check the seller's ratings. There's a link on each item for purchase that enables you to do so.

Weapons? I don't have any weapons but I have many firearms.

God have mercy on the man that makes me turn the firearm I use for recreation and pleasure in to a weapon.

My last purchase was online through Gunsamerica. I got a Kahr PM9, new in the box, for $579.00 (that includes shipping). Very pleased. I live in a smaller town, and that saved me $150-200 from what I was going to have to pay at my local gun shop.

Good point - So do they just ship it to you directly?

yes, I just include a copy of my DL and a signed statement saying, "There are no laws or prohibitions preventing me from owning firearms." The statement isn't required, but I make anyone I've sold a gun to in a FTF deal sign it so I do the same.
