Online access to gun dealing triggers fears

Yeah, but they always gotta close an article like this with BS from the National Society of Booger Hunters. "Something horrible will happen..." Give me a break! Oh, well. I'm glad nothing ever happened before there was an Internet.

Humph.

Again, we hear talk of "legislators" trying to figure out some way to regulate the Internet. They know they can't, because the Internet is worldwide and not subject to any one government. Even in places like China and Afghanistan, where the governments have banned all but the most tightly controlled access, Internet guerrillas have found ways to get on line.

Now, I'm not a lawyer, and I don't even play one on the internet, but isn't there a legal phrase for this? Something about "prior restraint?" Or am I way off base here?

Yep. All it's going to take is for one nutcase to shoot someone with a gun he bought from a dealer on the internet, legally or otherwise, and Schumer's proposed legislation will become law.

Of course, the folks at HCI and VPC know just as we do that internet sales are subject to the same restrictions as mail-order sales. But why let the truth get in the way?

BTW, I've seen the ads that Larry, the internet advertiser, has run. His prices are a bit high, IMO.
