One household one rifle...

I am very happy about our rights here in the United States especially when I see whats going on overseas. The "ISIS" is invading town after town in Iraq and then the next step is they take away everyone's rifle leaving only them with the firearms. This is the typical approach of any society where there is limited or no freedom. When the government or anyone else wants to take away your rifle it means they want to control you.

While it is debatable whether every household should have a rifle, I just think its a good idea generally. When everyone is armed is when we experience true freedom. I see the events taking place all over the world and how its unfolding. I get a warm feeling seeing my Sam-7 in the background. While I might not ever need it in that manner, I am just happy its there as its a true symbol of civil rights and freedom.

While it is debatable whether every household should have a rifle,

If every household had only one rifle, then entities like ISIS would have a very easy time disarming everyone.

That is why there should never be a gun registry and every adult should own as many guns, shotguns, assault rifles, rifles and corresponding ammunition to fight against tyrants after they come to take your rifle away.

You believe Somalia has true freedom? Guns everywhere, everyone has one, no laws at all.

So why didn't everyone's rifle stop the ISIS?

I personally believe that the will to fight for what you believe in is FAR more important than the number of people with guns in their houses.

You could drop planeloads of rifles all over Iraq to everyone there and it would not make a bit of difference.

Fight... with what?

Mao got one thing very definitely right: Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.

Fight... with what?

At the moment in the United States, the soap box, ballot box, and jury box are a much more powerful means of fighting to preserve our freedom than the ammo box.

You really believe that the Democrats were elected to power in the Senate and White House in the last elections because they had more guns than the Republicans?

I repeat: Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.

While the machinery of government may revolve about any number
of "processes", the power to enforce -- or resist -- eventually
devolves to the power of brute force.

Those who forget the never-ending and consistent proof of that
in history.... well, you know the rest.

The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. The socialists have rocked the education cradle since the 60s, and the brainwashing is almost complete.

When everyone is armed is when we experience true freedom.

I don't see much of that happening here either; even with 350,000,000 or so guns in the hands of civilians there is no organized group or enough spirit to mount any type of insurrection (which I know is off limits so let's drop that now)

The WILL to fight is more important than the armament - remember the Soviets using the latest and greatest against the Afghans a few decades ago? It became their Vietnam; even though the majority of those Afghans were using WWI weapons.

You believe that 500,000,000 people did what Mao wanted because he was threatening them with a gun?

You believe that the Nazi's committed all of their atrocities because someone was threatening them with a gun?

You believe that North Vietnam conquered South Vietnam because the north had more or better weapons?

Mao said a lot of things. Of course we all KNOW that politicians never lie, so any quote from Mao must be true! ;)

They are following the same policy the US did in Iraq, I did three tours there (the invasion in 03, OIF 2 in 2004 and what we later found out was OIF 4.6 in 2005-2006). The policy that we were instructed to enforce was one rifle per household, and that is what we did enforce when conducting cordon and searches/knock and talks.

Some, probably the majority, yes.

They had some believers.....with guns. The rest, the majority, went along rather than getting hurt.

Ultimately political power requires force. The demagogue acquires that force through lies and manipulation, and seldom ever wields it personally, but rather through his allies and tools.

Your post is absolutely exquisite proof of Mao's observation that "...political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." :D
