One happy customer - OnTarget is GREAT!!!

I just wanted to let my fellow 10/22 owners know that OnTarget is a GREAT source for parts. I just bought a Volquartsen SS Match barrel, HP Action Kit, and Auto Bolt Release from them. They ship fast, and the e-mail exchanges I have had with Bill from OnTarget have been pleasant, and he always answers quickly.

No, I don't work for them, and I'm not making a red cent off their business. Just a new rifle owner who has been very happy with OnTargets customer service and speedy (and cheap!) shipping.

Just thought I would pass that on to anyone else looking to upgrade their 10/22.

Hopefully I will get a scope, rings, and a mount on Monday and put my "new" 10/22 together!

In case anyone is interested in this bit of info...

Volquartsen recommends against using a bore brush in their barrels, only a patch tied to a piece of string (the "weed wacker" method that has been posted here before). I e-mailed Bill, and asked him why.

Bill says that the Volquartsen barrels have highly polished bores, and that a bore brush (we were talking about brass brushes) would dull the finish of the bore over time. He uses a wet patch on a cleaning rod from the chamber end, and occasionally twists a bore brush through the CHAMBER ONLY by hand (not using a rod) when the chamber gets gummed-up.

He didn't say whether a softer (nylon) brush was alright, but I am glad that I can still use my .22LR cleaning rod. Very carefully, that is :)

Ordered from them a few times with great response.

As a side note, they had sold their range and shop in Lorain, OH to B&T Shooter's Supply a few months ago. They have since set up shop in Parma, just 3-4 miles from my parent's house.

It's the only place I go for 10/22 parts.

The weed eater string is the best way to clean a barrel, unless you shoot a lot of copper.
