? on winchoke tubes

I just purchased a Win 1300 and I was wondering how tight do you screw in the winchoke tubes? Do you have to worry about overtightening them?

Thanks

Screw them in till they stop turning-using the wrench. winchokes aren't the "dissapearing" style of choke, so the outer edge will impact the barrel, and you won't be able to screw them in any more. If they don't touch, you may have some grit in the threads.

I had winchokes put in my Remingtons before rem chokes existed. Keep the threads clean and use a slight smear of antiseize compound on threads and KEEP TIGHT. I need a 12 ga. rifled Winchoke tube-anybody?

Try Nu-Line in Missouri.

I prefer external chokes (protects the muzzle). Even on external chokes that had wrenches-never used them. Snug with fingers only, check periodically. Prefer knurled externals myself.
