On line petition to free two border patrol agents

Sorry if it had been posted here.

____________________________________

Two U.S. Border Patrol Agents have been sentenced to a
decade long prison terms for apprehending an illegal
alien at our border!

Almost as outrageous is that the illegal alien drug
smuggler, who was given immunity for testifying against
the agents is now suing the U.S. for $5 million, claiming
he was permanently injured!

I have just signed a petition calling for the President
to pardon these two Border Agents and I’m asking you to
join with me by clicking here for the full story and the petition:

Thanks!

These two were not sentenced for apprehending an illegal, they didn't even apprehend him

They were convicted for shooting a man in the butt and then trying to cover it up

That case has been discussed here at length

"Therefore case solved.?"

Therefore there's much more to the story than the OP originally stated, and it's not nearly so clear cut. Do you *really* think that Border Patrol officers are imprisoned simply for apprehending illegal aliens?

Go to this website and get the full story. A lot of evidence was suppressed and Ramos and Compean were framed.

It's not PC to do your job and protect your country. A small part of the story:

During the thirteen months awaiting their trial, Ramos and Compean were offered plea bargains approximately six times. The last offer came five weeks before trial. That offer was for one year in prison and reimbursement to the government for the $35,000 in medical bills for the free treatment of the drug smuggler was given by the U. S. Attorneys in exchange for his lies.

Kanof continued to pile up counts against them until the agents were facing 40 years to life because of the count stacking. They rejected the plea bargain because they knew they were innocent and they had faith in our country’s legal system. Had they been guilty, they would have taken those plea bargain offers in a heart beat.

Handgun Marksmanship Training Needed for Officers

If the two Border Patrolmen in question only hit the pelado in the rear end,
(I won't use butt), they when hopefully pardoned will attend some marksmanship training. And in the future use or be allowed to use modern
rifles or submachine guns when shooting at criminals.

Erm.. yes all the facts (i.e. the full story) can be obtained from one site that favors strict immigration control for a case regarding border patrol agents and illegals. And read the story which is basically a letter written by the convicted agent's father-in-law. Brilliant.

What next, go to mcdonald's website to find out big macs taste good?

Well, you could get for the trial transcripts and see the evidence for yourself or you could take the word of someone that has studied the transcripts or you could take the Governments word. Depends on who you believe.

Or you can trust someone with an obvious bias because it fits into your belief system
I wonder if we can find a synopsis of the case as decribed by the butt-shot man's mother.

Probably go something like
"He was a good boy that would never have done nothing like that. They're all lying. they just shot him because he was Mexican."

I like the last part of the article...

they've both been convicted of crimes and now their bosses are going to decide whether to fire them?

Sounds to me like two dufus's. don't know if they really should go to jail, but they surely don't need to be protecting us.

I think we should believe the testimony of a man with 700 plus pounds of pot in his van and a multi million dollar lawsuit in his pocket. Absolutely amazing how terrible this is for the war on drugs and border security.

Don't forget the bullet in his butt.

These were lawmen sworn to uphold the system they worked in and judged under the that same system. There seems to be some evidence possibly that the system did not work as planned. If so the case needs to be revisited and the conviction thrown out.

Unethical NOT criminal

Alledgedly: the two Federal Law Enforcement Officers did not report the shooting (which Federal Law Enforcement Officers must do), alledgedly picked up shell casings to hide the shooting (which Federal Law Enforcement Officers must NOT do) and alledgedly lied about the shooting (another action Federal Law Enforcement Officers must NOT do). Their actions to stop the alledged drug smuggler are admireable, but as Federal Law Enforcement Officers, they alledgedly did some big NO NO's and should be fired from their jobs. Criminal charges/convictions? NO WAY.

Nothing alleged anymore it's either been admitted to or proven. But I don't think it was ever alleged that they lied about the shooting, unless it was the lie of omission

You only have to say allegedly before the conviction
