In the 1924 Olympics one of the shooters on the firing line got into an argument with an official that resulted in him dropping his rifle which went off and the ricochet hit U.S. shooter Sidney Hinds in the foot. He competed the next day with the injury and shot a perfect score which helped the U.S. team win the Gold.
