Olympic rapid fire targets

Question....since I have been unable to google up an answer. The rapid fire pistol event in the olympics uses a bullseye target (B-38/39). Years ago, though, the target was a stylized silhouette of the human body.
When was the change made?

Originally a 6 foot tall stylized human shape, the targets were changed first in the early 1908's to a rectangle with oval score rings then to the current round format around 1989.
Political change...can't shoot at a target remotely looking like a person...

I don't know about that. For starters, it is more about marksmanship than defensive shooting, correct?

Second. Some countries outlaw silhouette targets. Probably made the event unfair.
