Olympic NATO Spec Ammo

Ammoman has some 9mm Greek ammo called Olympic. It's NATO spec, what ever that means, 124gr, FMJ, 1200 f/s. He is selling it for $129 per case. Any one tried it? How does it compare with S&B, and the other practice stuff? Thanks, Sam

I have a case I havn't tried yet. Still finishing off the cae of 115 gr.. It works well in the two 9's I've used it in. I also use S&B, which I like. The two seem comparable to me.

Ammoman now has a good deal om Wolf. I've heard so many bad things about it, but the price is so attractive $90 case delivered, that I may have to try that.

Wolf ammunition

Sam C,

No experience with the Olympic 9mm.

MikeK,

I've put a couple thousand rounds of Wolf 9mm down my guns without anything more than a failure to fire here and there. No jams, failure to extract, failure to feed, etc. Just a few instances where there was no ignition.

Wolf 7.62x39 seems to be trustworthy. I've even had reliable funtioning in a "beater" AR15 with their .223rem.

I haven't tried any of their other caliber offerings, just 9mm, 7.62x39 and a mag or two of their .223.

Wolf brings out two common responses, you either love it, or hate it. Very few that are nonchalant. I'm one of the "indifferent" shooters that have tried wolf.

Will I ever shoot Wolf 9mm down my handguns again? Yes.
Will I ever shoot Wolf 7.62x39 through an SKS or a mini30? Yes.
Will I ever shoot Wolf .223rem through an AR15? Jury's still out on that one.

I know this didn't help,
Jim

The Sportsman's guide has the Greek 9mm for $100/1,000. The primers on these rounds seem to be either military, or just a little harder than most. A friend sent me a "review" of this ammo, and he said that 3 Berettas and a CZ-75 liked it just fine. He had some trouble with a Glock 19 not igniting the primers on some rounds. Striker spring replacement maybe?

I just got back from trying the Greek 9mm. One hundred rounds went through each of two Beretta type M pistols. It's a bit smoky, but didn't leave a lot of residue. Accurate, a little warmer than white box stuff, no failures; a good deal. When I finish typing, a few more cases will be ordered. :D
