Hello.
Im lookin at buying an older inexpensive semi auto to turn into a home defense kinda wild cut down terror...lol
i found a older springfield (40s) im thinkin springfield 745b.
looks pretty good and is the right price.
anything I should worry about as far as being older? how many rounds does it hold? goods...bads??? Thanks a lot...RR:D

You might not want to go quite that old or out of the norm for a home defense shotgun.
No doubt you would want to be able to find spare and repair parts, if needed.
As well as useful after market stuff.
You might want to check what's available for whatever choice you make before hand.

Might want to consider the Mossberg 500 pump gun, I know you said semi-auto, but it has a great following.

There is more Bolt-on stuff for the Mossberg's than any other brand!

There might be even more stuff for the equally venerable Remington 1100 auto loader.
There seems to be plenty of them around in the under $300 range, especially for the field grade models.
Well under for the more "experienced" looking ones.
