Older Charter Arms 38 spl undercover ~ +p rated?

Nope. You can probably get away with carrying +Ps in it if is is your CCW gun, but practice with the standard pressures.

Thanks; that is what I thought to be true. I do plan on using this gun as my "dirty day" gun for CCW (when I ride my motorcycle or some other activity when the gun might get wet from sweat or rain). I'll probably carry +P but never shoot it in this gun for practice.

Definitely do not feed it a steady diet of +P. I have however run a couple cylinders full through mine and had no ill effects. Kicks like a goat though. :D

My 1st gun: Charter Arms 3" blued Undercover Bulldog .38 Special.
Given to me by my MOM!
I still have it and the box it came in. Made in the 1970's.

It worked perfectly until I read an article in a gun magazine and decided to try to see what made it tick...
Charter Arms put it back together and made sure everything was perfect.
It is. :D
They even sent me some stickers and a pistol rug for good PR.

I have shot some Starfire +P through it, maybe 15-rds. I keep that ammo in it where it is stored.
The rest of the time I have used some Federal Nyclad and some old LRN 158-gr. ammo for plinking.

This gun is special to me and I won't get rid of it in my lifetime. :)
