I remember there was quite a few folks here who would be ready for a challenge...
Well - I finally got this home connection that I wanted, DSL, and I am ready to take on those challenges.
Who wants to try toshoot down a TFL Admin?

Oooooooo...if only I had a non-crappy internet connection...

And hey, the newest version of Harpoon should sport a non-buggy multiplayer option. If/when I get it, do you wanna take a shot at the Admiral? ;)

George I might like to play. But since I'm extremely illiterate when it comes to computers could you explain in a bit more detail what it is and how it works?
Feel free to Email me if you would rather not use the bandwidth here if I'm the only one that is in the dark.

Gunslinger

I was promised a Shortycicle and I want a Shortycicle!

parabellum: Lets play tonight... 10PM Mountain Standard time. Call the game TFL CHALLENGE with the password of "1911".

Gunslinger: You need a decent internet connection 56K should do it... and a retail version of MicroSoft's Combat Flight Simulator. Once CFS is loaded, click multiplayer, then click "PLAY IT ON THE ZONE".

I've played it a couple times on the zone already - Not bad... I go by the call sign "Kodiac45".

OK, George. Thta's midnight E.S.T., right? Are you gonna host, or do you want me too?

I go by "Boxcar"

You can host... I'm not a vetern Zone player. But I can find the game and join it.
What do you fly?
I like the Spitfire MkIX - good power, good guns, and all that - but that little rudder... if your not careful you'll stall a wing and that rudder wont compensate and you'll spin out... and in the Spit - you need a lot of altitude to recover. So the Spit is a challenge to fly well.

Ledbetter, come fly with us!
George, for stock play, I like the Hawker Hurricane. When addons arew allowed (That's addons, not mods. There is a difference), I love the Grumman F8 Bearcat. Very late WWII carrier-based fighter. Turns on a dime, fast, armed with cannons. Killin' machine....

One more thing, George. 100% realism means limited ammo. That really makes it kinda hard to have fun. Nothing you can do once you run your guns dry. I ususally allow unlimited ammo. That OK with you?

***If you have a firewall, you must turn it off while you're connected to the gaming zone. Otherwise, you will not be able to see the other players, and they will not be able to se you***

Anyone else wanna try this?
I have my flight crew prepping my Spitfire right now... Switching the feed systems to the machineguns over to Hollywood magazines.
:D

I'm new here, and am still doing the DSL install dance, but should be up and running at home in a few weeks. Please post updates, if you guys are still having fun, I'm sure my FW190 is up to the task.

I'll show up with a cable modem and a wicked P-51 just purring to annihilate a TFL administrator ;)

My chance for revenge since my Rimfire room was denied

Yeah, not much fun with just two. Either you're on their tail, or their on yours...
Uhhhh, never mind :D

George, I'll try "Ridge Runners" first. If that's full, just go down the line 'til you find me>

Outstanding.
I will be there a little early in an other fight...
Gotta warm up the guns. If the barrels are cold i'ld get a change in zero... put off my aim.

The more the better. I dont want to run out of targets.
