old style 870 thumb safeties for 4$

I give? What's an old style 870 thumb safety? My oldest 870 is from 1968 and it's got the usual cross-bolt safety at the rear of the trigger guard that I flip off with my trigger finger. Was there one previous to the cross-bolt safety? Or is this referring to old style vs the new locking safety? When I think of thumb safeties I think of tang mounted safeties.

So do I. I have an 870 with a sweet, smooth, stroke, but I will probably sell it, because I don't want to train myself on a different shotgun (3 Mossys in the house!).

Ooops!

Sorry guys- I don't visit daily. . .

I *think* that Wilson means the old non-locking vs the new locking safeties and that, being primarily a 1911 company, called it a thumb safety rather than the proper, well, whatever it should be called.

Maybe I should call.
