I would like some info on a 20ga side by side shotgun I have. The only markings it is the name "The Negun Co" and New England Gun Co. It has an 18 1/2" barrel and a short pistol type stock. Any info will be helpful.

AFAIK, it would have been made by the Crescent Firearms Company of Connecticut, sometime between 1914 and the Great Depression, when that company was bought out by Stevens Arms Company.

.

It's been modified. Commonly called a "Sawed Off" shotgun, it's been pretty much butchered and may be illegal.

Measure the barrels by dropping a dowel down the muzzle until it touches the breech and can't go further. Mark the dowel, withdraw and measure. If it's less than 18", it's illegal by Federal law.

if the OA length is less than 26", same deal.

If both lengths are OK, it's just useless.
