Old Japanese Optics

I recently purchases two like new old stock scopes. One is a Debco 3-9 made in Japan, nitrogen filled scope. Web searches come up with no information. The adjustment turrets appear to be brass.

I also got a like new 4x32 Universal Brand made in Japan scope. The adjustments on this scope seem to be of decent quality. The tattered box was red and white for this scope.

Can someone give me some information or a source of information on older Japanese optics. Both scopes are fline cross reticles.

I gave $40 for both. I see a 4x32 universal on ebay asking $200 and another beat up example on gunbroker for $25 or so. Any thoughts about the value of these older Jap scopes? I'm guessing these are vintage 70's or maybe even 60 vintage. Does anyone have experience with these brands and their durability/quality? Thanks, rc

Universal scopes were used on a lot of package guns in the 1960s and 1970s. I think the Remington 788 could be bought with a Universal installed.

I never heard of a Debco, although I know a guy who is very familar with off brand optics and will ask him.
