Old holsters in IDPA?

I got a Colt Trooper that I got the the old police holster with it and was wondering if I could use the holster in some IDPA matches. The holster is well made but has a lowered cut out arround the trigger so the trigger is not covered. This is the way it was made from the factory back then, Mid 80s, I think.
I'm not shooting for great competition times just would like to use my Pappys Ol pistol a few times this year.
Thanks JB

A little more info. The holster was the standard police holster. It carried OWB on the belt and has the snap strap over the hammer. Thanks

Ask your local MD. He will probably allow it for club shoots, but a holster that exposes the trigger does not meet official IDPA requirements. Do not take it to a sanctioned match, it won't get in. I recommend not even taking it to a club shoot where you and your abilities are not well known.
