Old Hi-Standard revolver box

I wish I had the gun to go with the box, obviously, but the box is in great shape and interesting nonetheless, with the original owner's name written on the top. I believe the serial number dates this to around 1957. Does anyone have the matching revolver? Looks like a 9-shot .22 capable of either short or LR.

That is an extremely fine example of a very cool box!

I think when you get in to boxes of that age and of "less than top tier" models & manufacturers, most would be extremely happy to simply have the same model handgun and not worry at all about the serial number.

I'm betting that some Hi-Standard collectors might REALLY desire that box!

There is probably zero chance of finding the matching gun by serial number, but finding a Longhorn should not be too difficult or too expensive; H-S made quite a few of them at the height of the "cowboy" gun craze in the 1950's.

And they're DA, not just SA like so many cowboy guns.

That's what the "Double" in Double Nine stands for.

C'mon! Be a sport and do the right thing!

It's obvious that he has the box.
It only makes sense that you be a good sport and send him the revolver!

Come on, now, this is rational thinking...
Afterall, what on earth is he supposed to do with a box and no gun to put in it?!

:D ;)
