I have an old H&R shotgun that I need to identify the chamber length. (2 1/2 or 3 inch)
All I can fine on the barrel is 410 GA. Choke proof tested
And on the frame is topper m48 Harrington & Richardson arms Co. Worchester mass.
It is so old that it doesn't have a serial number on it.
Anyone have any ideas?

If it is real old and you are not sure, I would stick with 2½".

For the record, ANY old firearm should checked out by a competent gunsmith prior to firing. Doing otherwise may qualify one for the Darwin Awards. And any competent smith can determine the correct shell length.

Many older H&Rs are in fine shape, and make wonderful knockabout and beginner guns. The design is classic, and they take lots of abuse.
