This one is missing a good piece of his tail, as you can see by the hand next to it. Even with about a foot of tail missing he's well over 12 feet and a easy 600#. Not quite as big as the last one but still very good. Would have been 13+ with the tail.
Snagged him early but had a lot of trouble getting him to a point where we could set a harpoon. As he was big, and being very uninterested in having one pull off, we were going to set 3 of them before we hit him with the bangstick.
It was at this point that we realized we had left the rest of our harpoons in the gator the wife and I caught last week. Did not have any more. That's when we called a friend. He was already at the ramp but he ran the 15+ miles down to help us. The pictures he took were a bonus. And they helped with hauling the beast in which was another bonus.
