My old but new Colt Lawman Mark lll, .357. I bought it on the Internet for $269.00. It is clean and has seen very little use. I hope to use it tomorrow at the range. Just something about old guns!!!
You better stop you are buying to many guns . But great find I got one just like it and one of my better shooters.I was doing great buying guns untill my grandson asked how many when I told him wife heard me ,have been cut off :barf: Didn't think 37 was that many
Yep, that's a looker - I am a generation younger than you, but still do think that in terms of aesthetics, the blued revolver with wood grips is nicer looking than the newest ones. However, I think that newfangled one there is not quite as nice looking as a Single Action Army style like the Vaquero (you also own) - maybe 75 years older than your Colty-come-lately.
As far as what I have actually bought - it's been a Beretta Vertec, S&W 617, and S&W 686, relatively modern guns, however. Usually when the wallet comes out the left-brain gets overruled by the right-brain.
Old Colts are the only ones I care for (same for Smiths too). As a general rule, if it weren't made before I was I don't look too hard. Come to think of it, I only own one gun newer than me! Nice find.
Good find. Mine is a 2", RB and blued. My 4" is nickel. Excellent revolvers. The S&W M13s wee not even as good. Ruger could not produce anything even close in durability or class. The Lawman MKIII was and could well be the best fixed sight 357 Magnum ever made. The closest other competitors were N framed S&W M27s. Those are arguably the two best 357 Magnums made.
I put 50 rounds through that old beauty this morning. It's very accurate in spite of fixed sights, and the action makes it a pleasure to shoot. When I got it home, I cleaned, lubed, and put it to bed...
