Would an old 16 ga. dbl barrel eclipse shotgun be worth more than the 12 ga.? The mod # is 5216.Also wondering if they sold cases with these shotguns ? The case has no name or labels on it ,just some numbers stamped in the leather, 1814,then underneath that,30.

Can't tell you much about the value. That is definitely not a common brand name. Chances are it was made by Crescent Arms, which became H. D. Folsom, and eventually was absorbed by Savage. I have a list of over 100 "trade" names produced by Crescent and Folsom and the list is by no means complete. The value of most of these old double and single barrel shotguns is negligible, except for sentimental value. Parts are somewhat difficult to find, and there is some chance that the gun has damascus barrels, which means that it should not be fired under any circumstances. Here endeth the epistle. Meant to mention that many of these old guns had a 2 9/16" chamber and should not be fired with 2 3/4" ammo.
