Old does or young ones?

OK- here is the hypothetical:

I believe that older does (2 years plus) usually have twins in good years where as young does tend to only have single fawns. If my management strategy involves having a nice number of deer next year, would it be wiser to take young does or older ones given those assumptions?

Hog eradication question.

I believe I saw an article that stated that boars are the number one predator of gilts. If that is true, would it then follow that you should shoot sows were possible and leave boars alone to continue to eat gilts?

Smart Old Does

in our area the deer are all highly pressued and highly educated! so given the choice I would take the older doe before she has the chance to teach the younger ones all the things I have taught her with every mistake I ever made in front of her.

if you see a doe with fawns take the fawns because without their mother they likely wont make it through winter. thats a theory of mine and seems the nicer thing to do. hope that helps
