Any ideas what to use to fill and repair an old Browning shotgun buttplate circa 1950? It appears to be a black horn or maybe an early form of plastic material, with several holes which appear to have beeneaten by insects.
MeekAndMild, you might try Acra-glass gel. You can dye it black and it works for a lot of applications like this. Brownells sells it. www.brownells.com. George
Thanks. That was kind of what I was thinking at first. Trouble is, the buttplate has raised writing on it and those fiberglass gels don't look like they have the solidity to sculpt until they're nearly dry. I may have to just fill in the holes and leave the writing alone.
