First, CNN/Gallup has taken their tracking poll and gone from 3 day rolling average to a 2 day average. Result, Gore gained a single point yet the 6 day average remains the same. Guess that means CNN can report that the race is tightening.

PoA has Bush with 7 point lead. Battleground has Bush up 9. Yet today, Zogby is reporting Gore has moved up to a 2 point lead - 48 to 46. How? I don't know; however, that is a 3 point jump for Gore and the first time he has ever been above 46 in Zogby.

We are going to win, but I want everybody to remember Zogby. Be sure to email him with your memory of this. Why? Although Zogby says he doesn't change his questions, Gore uses Zogby. In a poll by Campbell (R) of CA, Bush was tied here in CA. Campbell hired Zogby. Hummmmmm.

Go VOTE !

There is any number of ways to goose a poll. Zogby was using a 3 day rolling average. For the last days of the election the changed to a 2 day rolling average. That move would amplify any movement at all in the numbers. I'm not the least surprised at the polls closing.

Polls sponsored by big media are designed to do one thing and one thing only: create a horse race. They are not interested in telling us what is going on. They are only interested in ratings which set advertising rates which set revenues from running ads which generates profits (yes, even fascist organizations believe) which generates stockholder value which generate bonuses for the bigwigs.

Bottom line profits is why polling is bogus. This year for the first time the public gets it. I predict a reduction in the emphasis on singular polls in the future.

waitone,

I'm kind of favoring portraitofamerica.com poll. At first I was leary - kind of still am - but they use automatic calls. The person answering the phone has to press buttons to answer the question. The were the most accurate during the primaries.

Anyway, only one more poll to worry about - and it is the one that counts.......

Bush is going to win, if for no other reason than the fact he is winning the married gap buy double digits.
