OK TFLers Soundoff / Should we heckle his Billness on 4/19 combo thread

Who else here from OK?

And would anything be gained by us in OKC trying to make hay out of Klinkton's obvious shallowness in appearing at the bombing memorial dedication on April 19 here, by perhaps a heckle session with signs at the dedication?

As much as I am tempted I would not want to politicize the event any more than he already is. He is not liked in Oklahoma and is not welcome there, he is doing it for publicity only as an attempt to improve his image to the rest of the U.S. You would not get coverage anyway. Look at the hundreds who showed up at the town hall meeting that MSNBC broadcast and nothing on any network. They even had babies dress in camo clothing and couldn't get on TV. You can bet that it would be shown if only 10 people showed up, but when there is a show in force the media wants to hide that popular opinion from the public.

I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying, but I doubt the national media machine will pay it the slightest attention. Part of the local event involves raising money for the memorial project, ergo the Great Posturer's presence. Few locals want to be seen as heartless to the victim's even if they quietly despise his presence.

He may even use the oportunity to anounce an EO for a federal donation in his name. The Feds' income gets very attractive this time of year.

You are both correct in that he is not welcome here.

No on the demonstration!! I saw all I wanted to see of the bombing site I want to see. I also would not like to see the dedication disturbed in any way. There are people that need to be left alone with their losses and grief.

I am not speaking of seeing all I wanted to see of the bombing site from viewing it on tv. I saw all I wanted to see up close and personal.

Yeah, I know it could be viewed that way by the average person, and maybe even people here who don't understand the point is that we don't want him here - we just want him to serve out his lame duck term and quit callavanting around the country cashing in politically on people's misery (Columbine, OKC, etc.). I just hate his guts so much, I want to do SOMETHING to make him look bad if possible, so when the opportunity arises.... But as pointed out, the media will protect him with "selective coverage".

Anyway, which of you are here in Oklahoma, please? OK, I know Okie Gentleman is and I think Jeff, but others?

Well I live here in OKC and work across from the Myriad for the State. I would not choose THAT moment to make a stand against an idiot. That day, at least in this city, should be reserved for the victoms. I would not like to see any distraction off to the side for any other cause, including a cause like the RKBA. Besides you are just crying out to be slammed by the media as another "heartless gun owner". I think we all know why klinton is here. It's another chance for him to get up there and bite his lip and tell us how quick justice will be served. OH wait, I forgot that we have to wait a few more years for the appeals process.

Until the antis put a sign in their front yard that says they don't own guns, they are riding on the shirt-tail of the safety that we provide by owning them.

FUD, I grew up there and all my friends still live there. My credit union was on the third floor of the building, killed 18 out of 33 employees. I just saw the site for the first time last Oct. since the bombing. I had avoided it before that. The garage that I use to park in was still there, but in place of the building was air. A very odd feeling.

I'm gonna have to go with OkieGentleman on this one, a demonstration would be in poor taste. A relative of mine works for OKC Chamber and there will be over 500 press there, but like others mentioned, a demonstration is not likely to be positively recognized. Also, anyone participating would probably be quickly ushered away from the dedication via our friendly FBI, SS, or local PD.

I personally don't want to be anywhere near downtown Wednesday. I've seen my share of the bombing site in the past 5 years and know a few who survived the blast. I know they would like to be left alone and in peace during the ceremony.

Futo, I'm next door in Pottawatomie County. I share your outrage at Clinton's presence and would love to see him taken down a notch if it were possible. Perhaps we do need to remember that this day truly isn't about him at all.

JHS, Boise City gets weather billing in CO and KA weather maps sometimes. Poor ol' Goodwell. Honestly, you know the weather before we do most of the time down here.

. I have a DTN!

Sir, You have one of the most succinct and honest response history compared to most I've read on this internet prairie.

Thanks for setting the standard.

I can see that many have totally misunderstood the proposed harassment. It would have had nothing to do with guns or RKBA. The message to Clinton would have been "Leave us alone here in Oklahoma. You weren't here when the bomb went off, and we don't want you here now just trying to callously score political points from a tragedy." Everyone savvy?

Coincidentally, Oklahoma TFLers reading this, Mr. Lee Mauldin (OK GOA rep) needs help manning the Gun Owners of America booth at a gunshow in OKC on April 29th and 30th. Please contact him if you can help man the booth. We were pretty successful last time in signing people up in GOA by getting them free admission to the show ($8 value) and a free T-shirt with their $20.00 GOA yearly membership. So if you can help, please contact Lee Mauldin at

Thanks.

Futo--

Understood, but if you raise his visit to the level of protest, then you're helping to raise a Political Debate, so that we completedly lose sight of the horrible tragedy against our nation.

And I'm about to say something else here, that's going to cause the rapid intake of a lot of breaths, but bear me out:

That man, Mr. Clinton, is our President. He is, like it or not (we don't), the figurehead who is representative, in theory and in office, of our nation. (Please stop gagging, and keep reading.) The crime that was committed at the Murrah Federal Building in OKC was a crime against those people, the people of the city, and the people of the United States. I live hours away and in another state, but *I* was affected deeply by the attack. It is proper that our President should speak at the tragedy. It is proper that he NOT be interupted.

Now, if he chooses to make political hay of the situation, he's the lowest of the low. But if we respond in kind at the scene, we're perpetuating that crap. Respond later. Go on a campaign about what a baddy he is. I'll sign on! I really will! I'll go to demonstrations at another place and time.

But not there. Not now. Please. Let the snake who happens to hold a great office speak, and endure, and then he'll go away. Please. I know it feels intolerable, but This Too Shall Pass. (Somehow even more appropriate when speaking of the turd that Slick Willy is...)

We cannot (!) respect the man, but we must respect the office.

Thanks for hearing me out. I'm not going to post of this one any more.

L.P./Matt

Yea Futo I agree with Long Path. Leave the snake alone and let him hiss then crawl back under his rock. We can catch him and skin him another day and another time.

Who is for making a trip to his trial after he is out of office. What you want to bet the media feed on him like a bunch of parana, when they no longer can use him to advance their leftist ideas.
