haven't been here since dec '09 '04...
just bought a 590 , trying to find one of the 17" m-7 bayonets that were made for a couple of years way back when...
i want to set my 590 up like my '97 was...
any ideas ?...
google/yahoo/bing are no help... thanks.
the bayonet lug is different now. It is basicaly the standard bayonet lug on any Nato rifle since the mid 1960's any bayonet designed before then will not work.
The usmc has a nice 8" bayonet that basicaly looks like an old K-bar. (Looks like this) you can buy one for around $120.00 brand new. Probably have to order it, not many places sell them in store.
what i posted was that there were M-7 bayonets made with a 17" blade to 'ape' the old style pre WW2 bayonets.
they were made for the ar/m16 family of rifles ...
i know that the other bayonets do not fit...
i am trying to find the 17" ar/m16 bayonet...
please to read with more care and comprehension...
the m-9's are junk and break easily even on sandbag drills...
look , guys , these were real bayonets , made by a german company for the ar/fal/91/93/etc...
why would they be for sale in a farking comic book ?
if no one wants to be serious in their responses i'll just get the thread deleted...
I'm not certain that those were a regular production item so much as a conversion.
You might want to get in touch with Mike Williamson (Occasionally lurking about the gunternets under the handle "MZMadMike".) I know he's successfully modified various baynets, including at least one wicked 20" saw-backed Swiss engineer's bayonet, to lock up on the M16 lugs.
There is one flea mkt. near me that you can find almost anything from swords,to knives, to bayonets and almost anything military related.Yes, there are lots of good ads in comic books.Sometimes the best things are in our own back yard, maybe under a chip. Good Luck. Ed
