I recently bedded and floated my model 7 predator. bedding job looked great. took it to the range and my 1 moa groups turned into 3 moa groups. I think floating it might not of been such a good idea.

Anyone bed a barrel channel on a fluted barrel before?

Any suggestions?

Think I might just bite the bullet and buy a new stock.

Try an experiment before buying another stock.

Many skinny barrel hunting rifles shoot better with barrel pressure from the tip of the stock fore end.
Fabricate some shim strips out of business cards.
Place the shims at the tip of the stock fore end so it puts upward pressure on the barrel.
Shoot a group and see how it does.
Add or subtract shims and shoot another group.
You'll be able to tell if your barrel needs pressure from the fore end.

If you find a shim combination that works, measure its overall thickness and replicate it with a dab of JB Weld cured and filed to the proper thickness.
