shooting IPSC with 9mm should i do production or limited minor division? im really on the fence about this, people tell me different things. which division should i really work on to help me get good?

What gun? If you have something suitable for Production like a Glock or Sig-Sauer, shoot Production. If you don't because it is a single action like a Browning, shoot L-10 and hit as many As as you can.

Define "good".

Do you want to win medals? Shoot production because the points down hurt you more in Limited.

Do you want to shoot faster and more accurately? Does not matter which division. Just track your progress.

I enjoy shooting more when I can fully load mags.

I'd shoot Production. If only 60% of you wants to win, it ain't gonna happen shooting Limited Minor, and you'd really need to get extended basepads, a honkin' magwell, and some awesome trigger work to be even a little bit competitive. Also, less ammo in your mags means you have to manage your ammo and gun well, and you don't have the safety net of extra ammo.

well idk actually id say 80/20 but the fact still remains i really think production just seems a better division because you would get better at reloads a littttle bit faster and then you could also more easily transistion to single stack or limited 10

IDPA? No winning stuff, period.

Improving self defense? Better in IDPA, you draw from concealment, less of a foot rate mentality. Glock 19, right out of the box, couple or three extra magazines, carry holster. You are ready for a match.

Try it, you will like it, shoot them both, more trigger time.
