Good morning,

Thank you for your interest in the Ohio State Fair.

Concealed Handgun License holders are permitted to carry their concealed handguns on the grounds of the Ohio Expo Center upon presentation at the entry points of their CHL permit and another form of government-issued identification. They will be permitted to enter the grounds and move about the open portions of the Ohio State Fair. They will not be permitted, however, to enter any enclosed building that is posted with a sign prohibiting the carrying of a weapon, concealed or open. If the patron with the CHL permit would like to enter buildings, the patron will be given the option to return the handgun to his or her vehicle and secure it for the duration of their stay.

Are you allowing CCW at the state fair this year? Are there any limitations, if allowed?

Thank you,

Is that enough? I wish the buildings were not an issue... Not sure why they are.

Your CCW experience there?

Just carry something else.
Spray, knife, club, big friend, 'etc.
Having to either risk breaking the rules or having to hoof it all the way back to the car, (and being paranoid about leaving it there), seem like too much trouble.
We have lots of defensive tools besides guns.

Blasphemy!
But in reality I agree. And not just at the state fair.
I am pushing for expanded weapons covered under a CHL, as many states have, and wonder what that would mean for CPZ zones. If certain knives are included in the CCW would that make them illegal to carry in a CPZ even if they are currently legal...

The Ohio State fair is one of the best fairs in the country. Leave the gun in the car, have fun and bid on a 4H animal.

Maybe it's too early in the day ...

What's a "CPZ zone"?
