Ohio Castle Doctrine Question

I heard a radio ad that said you have to have some sort of license of training to have the Castle Doctrine apply. I think it is a firearms training company being misleading to drum up business, since I have not read about any type of required licensing.

I am not referring to a CCW, just to the use of a firearm to defend your home.

Has anyone heard of the requirement to be licensed?

I am sure no lawyer, but as an Ohio resident who pays a little attention to these things, that is sure not how I understood it to work. Even if you are carrying illegally and shoot someone justifiably I think Castle doctrine still applies, but you are on the hook for an illegal carry charge or whatever.

I did not remember the name of the company. It took a minute to register, since it was contrary to what I have read about the castle doctrine.
