Oh Las Vegas...What Will You Come Up With Next: Range/Ultralounge

Came across this in an article about the place. The Gun Store(bought my first firearm there), in Vegas now has more competition.

Personally I think the idea is interesting but not for me. Aside from the prices, I've seen the people on an average day renting the full autos at The Gun Store, and wouldn't really want to be on the line with them, I can only imagine with the added glitz of this new place what kind of people would be on the line.

It certainly fits right in with the over the top nature of Vegas. What do you all think? Is a Vegas trip just not complete without blowing a few hundred dollars on a glam'd up indoor range?

Its for the lot who just want to blast away with some automatic weapons. Ain't no Knob Creek.

Lulz @ the free 100 rounds of .22lr.

$700 for 350 rounds of ammo and some rental machineguns? That's like selling someone a NASCAR track experience in a real stock car and then giving them an eyedropper of gasoline.

Kinda pricey dontcha think?
Hell, the LGS/range will give you a 5 rounds test drive for free if your a serious shopper. Buy the ammo and they will rent you a full auto gun for $10 or $15 for non-members.
It's target audience is probably foreign tourists who can't legally touch a gun back home. A lot like the gun range in Waikiki.

I couldn't find pics of the ULTRALOUNGE on the site. Do they have a bar and dancers? A big dance floor with a dj and spinning disco ball? What's the deal?

The new indoor range here that's about to open has a private range on the second floor for anyone willing to pay $2500 down and a lot more a month than the regular membership I signed up for with $100 down.

The shoot house in the basement is for LE as far as I know.

Most packages look to be about $2.00 a round,,,

Which really isn't that bad for a one time thrill thing.

Their prices aren't any worse than H&H full auto prices in OK City.

I think they'll make some money there,,,
How can a New Jersey or Chicago tourist resist that Mob Package. :D

When you factor that most of the Vegas folks are from countries where ANY gun, let alone full auto, is not allowed, they are willing to pay that price for that experience

Personally I think they've got a good business model going. I picture folks from all over willing to drop a few bucks to fire some of the firearms listed where ever your from and especially if you've won a few bucks, found money you know....

I didn't know that folks from states with liberal gun laws avoided Vegas...

One thing I WOULD like to know is that a breathalyzer is employed before a patron can enter.....

I didn't see the $700 350 rounds price, I did see the $399 package that included 300 rounds of ammo and the gun.

Even at that lower price and how quickly people will blow through 300 rounds, the relative cost to the shooter would be huge as compared to a $500 per hour helicopter hog hunt which I thought was too much to pay. If the shooter finishes in a half hour, the relative hourly cost is $798 per hour.

Holy cow.

In looking at some of their other packages, the prices on many of their seem quite inflated. I can imagine renting a couple of big more revolvers with 35 rounds of ammo for $90 certainly isn't a bargain.

Join the Army National Guard or Reserve. Lots of machine gun shooting, plus free group exercise sessions.

We had an Army Reservist in our office, encouraging me to join because I like to shoot. She'd shot fewer rounds in the previous year than I'd shot in the previous week. I'm sure it's rewarding service, but I don't know that I'd do it for the shooting.

See, you are already too smart for the Army. SEALs are supposed to be a good bit smarter than the average soldier. Join the Navy and apply to BUDS. :D

For sure every service members experience was different. Partly due to MOS, unit and other factors. Part of it is how aggressive you are in your military career. I was a range safety NCO on the SAW range for years so I had the opportunity to fire 10,000's of rounds through the MG. Now some of you very active shooters may out do that. I never shot the M9 and only shot the M16A2/M4 to qualify and head over to the M249 range and spend my weekends there. As far as this service vs that service....I have respect for all who served. Now I do have a friendly rivalry of course w the other branches but all in fun.

When I lived in California, I saw lots of Asian tourists arrive at the range in groups of as many as ten or a dozen. They got safety talks and demonstrations, rented guns, and had a grand time. More power to them!

I think one of the things that will make business for this new place is that they have the free rides from The Strip to the range and back. There are actually several ranges in the city that rent full autos and similar packages, but they require knowing about them and finding transportation to them. The Gun Store (which I refuse to go back to because of a bad experience) has ads all over the airport and some taxis, but I believe one must find their own way there and back, which would most likely be a taxi. Free rides is a good business plan, which I'm sure this place took from the many gentlemen's clubs in the area that offer the same service.
